The Midland Alliance (now sponsored by ASPIRE) was formed in 1994 by 20 clubs, 10 from the West Midlands Regional Premier Division and 10 from the Midland Combination. Amongst those clubs was Shifnal Town.

The league now consists of 22 teams for the 2008/09 season where all the teams will battle it out to gain promotion to the Unibond Division 1 South or the British Gas Midlands Division.
